Happy New Year, friend!

We’re sharing a quote from “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It feels fitting, especially this time of year, but it’s also an idea we return to when we need a little motivation (like when we decided to turn The Edit into this newsletter!). You get a virtual high-five if you recognized that our tagline, This Side of Paradise, is a title from a Fitzgerald novel.

Now, let’s make 2025 a goodie. One we’re proud of.

Instead of resolutions, we have some general goals and overall lifestyle upgrades in mind. Here are just a few:

More staycations and island hops. Travel + Leisure just wrote about the 16 Best Resorts in Hawaii, stating, “Millions of travelers worldwide have come to appreciate the beauty, climate, and people of the islands.” Why let tourists have all the fun?

Try out some fitness classes, not just for the health benefits but for the community.

Stick to a simple skincare regimen.

Get involved in the community through activism and volunteering.

Thrift more. Waste less. Thrifting is one of our favorite hobbies, but if sifting through racks and shelves is not your cup of tea, many people are curating goods from across the islands for you. We’ll write a roundup of vintage sellers and brands to follow/shop soon. (Feel free to email us if there are any you particularly love!)

Focus on quality, not quantity, in everything—relationships, products, work, experiences, etc.
