Hi friend,

Today’s roundup is a bit of a hodge podge, but we’re going with it. Below, you’ll find out which eight chefs and one eatery in Hawaii were nominated for the industry’s prestigious James Beard Awards, drool over a new collection (even more so if you golf!), and find out what’s happening across the islands now through the end of the month. And don’t forget to scroll to the bottom “Extras” section for some suggestions on what to watch, read, shop for, and support. We hope this email brings you joy.

Stay warm!😉

Hawaii’s Wahine collaborated with the Aussie brand Walker Golf Things on a collection ode to Hawaii and Australia’s surf, skate and golf culture. The collection and the video, shot on the North Shore of Oahu, where Wahine cofounder Evan Mock grew up, make us want to learn to golf. You can watch it here on the Walker Golf Things website.

To Read
We found two articles in Hana Hou! magazine particularly interesting: This one about Lyric Woodworking, and another about Uchinanchu history in Hawai‘i, and how many of Hawaii’s favorite restaurants (Zippy's, Rainbow Drive-In, Highway Inn, Like Like Drive Inn, etc.) were opened by Okinawans.

To Shop
Brie from HONOLULU Magazine provided a great roundup on where to shop vintage and secondhand muumuu on O‘ahu. Bookmark this article!
