YOU SHOULD KNOW: THE SISTERS BEHIND CAMI AND JAX SWIMWEAR
Almost a year ago, in April 2014, Camille and Jackie Brady launched their eponymous swimwear company, Cami and Jax. Though they now call Los Angeles home, the sisters grew up in Hanalei, Kauai, and like many island girls, found themselves wearing swimsuits more often than clothes. For years, they dreamed of creating a swimwear line that was at once fashionable and functional to fit their active lifestyle. Still, after high school, Camille and Jackie moved to Oahu to study Communication/Journalism and Apparel Production and Design, respectively, at the University of Hawaii before they finally took the leap and launch their label.
Within their first year, Cami and Jax swimwear has been featured in Foam, Shape, Ocean and Vice magazines, and Camille and Jackie landed the cover of Malibu Times magazine in July 2014. Staying true to their original idea, the girls pride themselves on the fact that between their two current collections, Makana and Black Jack, there's a suit for every body type (many of the suits are adjustable).
With teeny bikinis, high-waisted styles and sleek one-pieces with unique cut-outs all available in a variety of colors and prints, you'd be hard-pressed not to find one that suits you.
Below, a peek at some of my favorite styles from the Makana and Black Jack collections, and a few of Camille and Jackie's favorite people and places in their home state of Hawaii.

FAVORITE BOUTIQUES/RESTAURANTS/MARKETS, ETC.: Healthy Hut in Kilauea is our one-stop-shop for nourishing foods and organic groceries!; The Bikini Room in Hanalei has been our favorite boutique since we were little (and now carries Cami and Jax); and The Beauty Bar in Princeville has the best selection of skin care products and high-end makeup to keep us feeling beautiful!
IDEAL STAYCATION: Hiking the Na Pali coast on Kauai and camping on the beach under a sky full of stars.
THE BEST DAYS ARE SPENT…: Wearing a Cami and Jax bikini on a clean beach with fun waves and warm water surrounded by family and friends. Cute dogs/boys are a plus!

CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT: Peace of Kauai shell and sea glass rings, Leahlani skincare and Minx-Meow rompers.
WE SHOULD KNOW: Photographer Dylan Lazo takes incredible photos that capture the essence of Hawaii from a unique perspective. As far as fashion, Joelle Perry designs custom ready-to-wear dresses and gowns that are a reflection of who you are, not trends.
WHY HAWAII?: We fall in love with the people and the place more and more every time we are there. It has a place in our hearts the could never be replaced.
As if they aren't busy enough building their brand, the sisters are also pursuing other passions. Camille is currently a realtor in Malibu and Jackie is getting her master's degree in K-12 education.
