BRUNCH AT DECK: IT'S A VIBE
One of the best things to come out of the iconic Queen Kapiolani Hotel’s 35-million dollar renovation was its pool-side restaurant, Deck. The modern and comfortable open-air space has a panoramic view of Diamond Head and Waikiki beach and different seating areas to match your mood— perfect for a weekend brunch.
While we aren’t quite at the level of their pre-Covid pool parties— a hit with the model and influencer crowds— Deck is, thankfully, back open for in-person dining again. Swing by for their popular pau hana happy hour or Sunset Sessions (a local music series held every last Sunday of the month) while enjoying their American-Pacific menu by Excutive Chef Masa Kubo.
But it’s their brunch that’s got a real vibe, complete with a DJ spinning for an attractive crowd. The menu has a classic Eggs Benedict and local favorites like Beef Curry and Loco Moco, but it’s the sweets we come for: Haupia French Toast made with Punalu’u sweet bread and sea salt caramel and the fluffiest Tokyo-style Pancakes whipped with ricotta you’ve seen this side of the Pacific. Pair it with their creative mocktails (get them spiked for a better time) made with artisanal ingredients and tropical flavors. We’ll cheers to that!
Brunch Sat-Sun 10am- 3pm. Queen Kapiolani Hotel, 150 Kapahulu Ave., Waikiki, 931.4488, deckwaikiki.com
